I believe that strengthening the relationship you have with your pet is the key to successful training.
With over 8 years of experience working with dogs of all ages and temperaments, I believe the best approach to dog training is rooted in building strong, trusting relationships between dogs and their owners through gentle, effective training techniques. Specializing in positive reinforcement behavior modification, I focus on rewarding desirable behaviors, fostering a calm, confident environment where dogs and their humans feel encouraged to learn and grow.
Since I can remember, animals have played a vital role in my life. As a child, I would spend a lot of time with my family’s rescue dog, Ginger. Ginger and I created an inseparable, special bond. My curiosity and connection to dogs grew into my adult years and eventually, into a career that I am most passionate about.
My training career began at the SPCA of Westchester where I cared for and trained shelter dogs, preparing them for their forever homes. While here, I assisted the Director of Behavior and Enrichment with new arrival evaluations and behavior modification protocols. I then began an internship and earned my first certification as a Dog Trainer through Animal Behavior College. After 2 years and many hours of shadowing, training, and private coaching, I earned my next certification as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Certified Council for Professional Dog Trainers. I am also certified as a Fear-Free Professional from Fear Free Pets, where I learned the latest science based methods to reduce fear, stress and anxiety in dogs.
Currently, I am a member of the Association for Professional Dog Trainers where I earn continuing education credits, and keep up with topics from professionals all over the world. I am committed to enhancing the bond between people and their pets through kindness, patience and positive reinforcement training.
